Therapy Services
Children
I work with children ages 7 and up. At this age, therapy is a place to play, create, and explore. Whether your child is going through major life changes, navigating questions about identity, or having a hard time sorting through big confusing feelings, therapy can be a place to feel seen and heard and rebuild communication and understanding within the family unit.
Teens
The teen years can be a confusing and often intimidating time. Whether it’s the pressure of increasingly demanding academic environments, navigating peer relationships both in person and online, or piecing together the big question of “who am I?” - there is a lot we can explore. Therapy is a place where teens can talk through their feelings, worries, and dreams without judgement.
Adults
Life can throw a lot your way, but you certainly don’t have to sort through it all alone. Whether there’s something that’s been bothering you for a long time, you’re looking to change old patterns of coping, or feeling blocked by fears and self-doubt, we can figure out how it all pieces together so you can get back to feeling like you.
Types of therapy
-
I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based modality for kids and teens who have experienced trauma. I use this approach alongside play and expressive arts techniques to help young people and their families get back to a place of equilibrium.
-
Visual art and writing can be incredibly helpful tools for creative expression, processing traumatic memories, and sorting through complex emotions.
-
I work with kids, teens, and adults who are at any stage in the process of understanding and affirming their gender identity.
-
Play is the primary mode of communication for children. It’s their way of expressing their feelings and needs, a tool for processing their experiences, and a window into their world.
-
I may work with your family as an add-on to our individual work together, or as a stand-alone treatment. Families come in all designs, and I am proud to offer a queer and poly-affirming therapy space.
